Milestones
Since its founding in 1992, mse Pharmazeutika GmbH has been dedicated to Mitochondrial Medicine. An overview of the most important milestones:
1992–1999: Foundation and first products
- 1992 – Founding of mse Pharmazeutika GmbH by Dr. Franz Enzmann and his wife Uta Enzmann in Bad Homburg
- 1993 – Development of the MitoMed concept with its specific active ingredients (Mitoceuticals®) for the protection and activation of mitochondria, the “powerhouses of our cells”
- 1994 – Publication of the first clinical study with an mse Q10 product: “The increase in the performance duration of endurance athletes correlates with the increase in Q10 plasma levels after Q10 intake”, G. P. Littarru, Energy and Defense
- 1994 – Expansion of activities to the entire German-speaking region (DACH)
- 1999 – Market launch of SanoMit® Q10, the first liquid ubiquinone Q10 product; Q10 is present in ultra-small droplets and can be absorbed by the body faster and approximately 4 times better than conventional Q10 in powder capsules
2000–2009: Clinical studies and growth
-
2002–2008 – Publication of clinical studies:
- “Complementary administration of Guttaquinon (liquid Q10) in inflammatory periodontal diseases”, K. Erler et al., special print from GZM – Praxis und Wissenschaft, 2002
- “Coenzyme Q10 combined with mild hypothermia after cardiac arrest”, M. S. Damian et al., Circulation, 2004
- “Influence of coenzyme Q10 and cerivastatin on the flow-mediated vasodilation of the brachial artery: results of the ENDOTACT study”, A. Kuettner et al., Int. J Cardiol., 2005
- “Efficacy of coenzyme Q10 in migraine prophylaxis: A randomized controlled trial”, P. S. Sándor et al., Int. J Cardiol., 2005
- “Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial on symptomatic effects of coenzym Q10 in parkinson disease”, A. Storch et al., Arch. Neurol., 2007
- “Short-term effects of coenzyme Q10 in progressive supranuclear palsy: A randomized, placebo-controlled trial”, A. Stamelou et al., Mov. Disord., 2008
- 2008 – mse continues to grow: Relocation to Nehringstraße in Bad Homburg
- 2009 – Market launch of QuinoMit Q10® fluid; it contains ubiquinol, the active form of Q10, in ultra-small droplets and is absorbed twice as well as SanoMit® Q10
- 2009 – Expansion of activities into Poland through the distribution partner “Mito-Pharma”
