Why Manganese is important for my body
Tasks of Manganese
The cellular metabolism is based, among other things, on the functionality of the mitochondria, where energy is obtained from our food. Manganese belongs to the mitotropic substances, which are important for the mitochondria and therefore also called Mitoceuticals®.
Manganese contributes to:
- normal energy metabolism
- maintenance of normal bones
- normal formation of connective tissue
- protection of cells from oxidative stress
Possible causes of increased manganese needs or deficiency:
Environmental influences
- low manganese soil content
Lifestyle
- high consumption of simple carbohydrates (e.g., white flour products)
- high alcohol consumption
- long-term parenteral nutrition
Organism
- oxidative stress (excess of free radicals)
- intake of certain medications*
In case of disease*
- diabetes mellitus
- tinnitus
- osteoarthritis
- osteoporosis
- epilepsy
* This refers to a possibly increased nutrient requirement and not to the alleviation, healing, or prevention of a disease.
ManganII mse
ManganII mse contains the trace element ManganeseII biologically bound to the freshwater microalga Spirulina platensis. Biologically bound ManganeseII is particularly well absorbed and utilized. In addition, the microalga is characterized by other valuable ingredients such as chlorophyll, plant protein, minerals, trace elements, and vitamins.
The microalga Spirulina platensis is obtained from soda lakes and is therefore low in iodine. It is thus tolerable for iodine-sensitive people.
ManganII mse contains 1 mg of ManganeseII per tablet.
