Why is CurcuMit® important for my body?

Properties of the ingredients

Cell metabolism is based, among other things, on the functioning of the mitochondria, in which energy is obtained from our food. Curcumin, resveratrol, zinc, selenium and vitamin D3 belong to the mitotropic substances that occur in or are associated with the mitochondria and are therefore also called Mitoceuticals®.

Curcumin is:

  • a substance contained in the extract of turmeric (curcuma)
  • encapsulated in starch to ensure better bioavailability

Resveratrol is:

  • a secondary plant substance (polyphenol)
  • a component of plant defences
  • found mainly in grapes, berries and Japanese knotweed

Zinc contributes to:

  • normal function of the immune system
  • the protection of cells against oxidative stress
  • the maintenance of normal skin, hair and nails
  • maintenance of healthy bones
  • normal vitamin A metabolism
  • maintenance of healthy vision
  • normal cognitive function
  • normal protein synthesis
  • normal metabolism of macronutrients (carbohydrates, fat and protein)
  • normal DNA synthesis
  • normal fertility and reproduction
  • maintenance of normal blood testosterone levels
  • normal acid-base metabolism
  • normal carbohydrate metabolism
  • normal fatty acid metabolism

Zinc also plays a role in cell division.

Selenium contributes to:

  • the protection of cells against oxidative stress
  • healthy functioning of the immune system
  • normal thyroid function
  • normal sperm formation
  • maintenance of normal hair and nails

Vitamin D3 contributes to:

  • healthy functioning of the immune system
  • normal absorption/utilisation of calcium and phosphorus

Frequently asked questions

Why are the capsules so yellow?

CurcuMit® capsules contain an extract of the curcuma root, whose German name is turmeric. This is the natural colour of the product.

What distinguishes CurcuMit® from other products with curcuma or the curcuma powder from the spice shelf?

Curcumin has a very low bioavailability because it is insoluble in water and clumps with other curcumin molecules in the digestive tract, which reduces absorption by the body. However, in CurcuMit® it is in a starch encapsulation - so the curcumin is absorbed as a single molecule in the small intestine.

What is resveratrol?

Resveratrol is a so-called polyphenol. Polyphenols are secondary plant substances that form part of the plant's own "defences". It is mainly found in grapes, Japanese knotweed and various types of berries.
