Selenium contributes to:
- normal thyroid function
- normal function of the immune system
- protection of cells from oxidative stress
- Maintenance of normal hair and nails
- Normal spermatogenesis
Possible causes of increased selenium requirement or deficiency:
Environmental influences
- selenium-deficient soils

Therefore, it is particularly suitable for compensating an acute selenium deficiency. It should be noted, however, that absorption is only about 50% and that it should be taken independently of vitamin C preparations or vitamin C-containing foods and drinks.
SeleMit contains 200 µg selenium per capsule.

Frequently asked questions
Is selenium in the form of sodium selenite well absorbed by the body?
Sodium selenite is quickly absorbed by the body, but only to the extent of about 50 %. In contrast to biologically bound selenium, it is therefore particularly suitable for quickly compensating for a selenium deficiency. However, it should be taken independently of vitamin C preparations or vitamin C-containing food and drinks.
What is the difference to the product Selen mse?
In Selen mse, selenium is biologically bound in the microalgae Spirulina platensis and is particularly well absorbed and utilised by the body. The microalgae also contain other valuable ingredients such as chlorophyll, plant protein, minerals and trace elements and vitamins.
Is there anything to bear in mind when consuming SeleMit?
Yes, SeleMit should not be consumed at the same time as vitamin C-containing preparations or drinks or food.
